My athletic career began when I joined a club
swim at about eight
years old. I ran middle school track but didn’t start training until my
freshman year at Satellite High School. While in high school I competed in
cross country, swimming and track and field, for four years. In 2004, I was
named a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
While
in high school I was a member of the Florida State Championship Cross
Country team in 2005-2006 and a member of the Florida State Championship
Swim Team in 2005-2006. My senior year I earned high school All-American
honors with a sixth-place finish in the mile at the National Scholastic
Indoor Championships in 4:53.

After
high school, I decided to attend the University of Florida on a cross
country/track scholarship. At the University of Florida I competed on the NCAA
qualifying cross country team in 2008 and 2009. I also specialized in the 1500m
on the track, qualifying for NCAA Regionals 2008.
The summer of 2009 I
earned my elite license in triathlon by winning Age Group Nationals in
Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This summer I decided to pursue
triathlons solely instead of running my senior year at UF. This summer I also
accepted an offer to train part of the summer at the Olympic Training Center in
Colorado Springs, Colorado.
At the age of 20, I began racing
triathlon as a professional and have never looked back. So far it has been an
amazing experience and I have met incredible people thus far. I look forward to
upcoming races!
Other than training I enjoy spending
time with my family and pets, as well as cooking (mainly baking!)
